How to read this page
MEGA DEAL and Good deal are only awarded when the price falls below the lowest level the market's average price plausibly sits at — the deal threshold — and the evidence behind that is stronger than low confidence. A big discount on thin comparables stays ? Unproven — cheap, but unproven. Nothing is hidden: those rows keep their deal %.
Market is the fitted fair asking price for that model, year and mileage. The bar under it spans the prices comparable bikes are advertised at (the 80% listing range), which is much wider than the uncertainty about the market's average: individual adverts vary a lot, so a verified deal usually still sits inside it. The tick is the estimate and the mark is the asking price, coloured by the verdict (green = verified deal, amber = cheap but unproven, red = over market). The bar's length shows how wide the range is — a long bar is the model saying "I don't know precisely". The i button opens the numbers behind any score: method, comparable split between Auto Trader and MCN, median comparable, and the rationale for the verdict.
Price is the drive-away total — BigMoto's admin fee is already added, and the deal % is measured against that same total, so the figure and the badge always agree. Auto Trader listings carry no such fee.
Comparables is how many comparable listings produced the estimate. Where the advert gave up the bike's registration, the MOT badge opens this app's own MOT page for that plate. Its label is the date the certificate runs out — or, when the advertised mileage reads lower than the odometer DVSA recorded at a test, that reading instead, which is the one that should stop a scan. The record is evidence about a registration, not a verdict on the bike: an odometer can be replaced and a reading mistyped, so the badge repeats the comparison and never calls a bike clocked. Where no MOT record could be tied to the bike — a checkout before the stage has run, a plate DVSA had no record for, or a record whose make and model did not match this listing — the plate links to the official gov.uk checker instead. A Recall badge means DVSA has a safety recall on record for that model; recalls are issued against a range of build dates and this data carries registration years, so it is a prompt to check the bike's VIN, not a verdict on the bike.
Location is not repeated on a BigMoto card. Every bike in this scan is held by the same dealer, across East Anglia, Cheshire, West Midlands, so the value is identical on all of them and was a third of the card's metadata line. The table's own Location column, the detail view and the CSV export still carry it, and an Auto Trader listing shows its own seller's location because that one varies from row to row.
Distance is measured from the dealer's postcode as Auto Trader reports it, and never filters the market comparison itself — a local shortage is not a valuation. Prices move: this is a snapshot, and a deal % is an estimate, not advice.
